We believe that learning takes place in and out of the classroom. That's why our teachers embrace many learning opportunities off-campus at places like the White House, Holocaust Museum, Underground Railroad, National Aquarium, local farms, libraries, and fire departments.
The importance of technology in our society cannot be understated. Students need to learn to utilize it appropriately for the right purposes. Every 11th and 12th grade student is provided an iPad to enhance learning through eBooks as well as educational websites, videos, note-taking, and projects. 6th - 10th grade students have access to iPads in class at the teacher's discretion.
Our guidance counselor assists students in preparing for the future. The college admittance procedure starts early with PSAT, SAT, and ACT tests, college visits, applications, etc. The guidance counselor also assists students as they face the emotional challenges many students face throughout their school years.
RenWeb is our online student information system that includes everything from grades and report cards to lesson plans, homework assignments, lunch orders, and permission slips. Parents are kept in-the-know with 24-hour access to their child's grades and assignments.
Keeping our students safe is a top priority. That's why every building is locked throughout the day. Additionally, our campus is covered with cameras in every area, including parking lots. Our full-time receptionist is careful to screen anyone wishing to enter one of the buildings.
Our highly qualified full-time nurse takes care of a myriad of physical ailments. Bandaging a knee, pulling a tooth, dispensing medication, and much more can all be a part of a typical day. Two other nurses on staff fill in when needed, ensuring that our students' medical needs are covered at all times.
Multiple Fine Arts programs throughout the year give our students the perfect opportunity to share their God-given musical and artistic talents. Competing in the annual ABCS Fine Arts competition offers the chance to showcase their talents as they compete against other Christian schools in a wide variety of areas.
If only every parent’s workday mirrored the school day schedule! Since that is not reality, we help ensure your children are safe through affordable before and after school care programs. “Early Stay” is free, and after school, a small fee is charged for “Late Stay” after 3:30pm.
